Childrens births were contributed by Elena Esmon Brown of TX 7933 who is in possession of a copy of the pages found in William and Anne Esmon family Bible.
Elena Esmon Brown of Texas also contributed records from the Veterans Administration regarding William Esman Civil War Records and Anne Davis Esmon's petition for monthly pension. Documentation of the Civil War Records and Pention petition contributed by Elena Esmon Brown have been added to this manuscript for future generations to read and enjoy.

Notes: Iva Esmon is buried in Hopewell Cemetery in Jefferson Co., IL June 1886-1/31/1922.
No Esmons in the Monroe Co., TN cemetery index on the Internet in Sept. 1999. Only Esmon that comes up in a search of TN genweb sites is Nannie Esmon, daughter of T.A. and Martha Esmon.
No Esmons or Martha Etta Davis Henry are listed in the Guion Miller Indian Roll at the National Archives website which lists all eastern Cherokee Indians.
No Esmons were listed in the Kygenweb site as Revolutionary War Bounty Land Recipients. There are no Esmons in the 1835 KY Revolutionary War Pension Rolls.
No Esmon or Esman was a patentee for land in Illinois according to the BLM records at www.glorecords.blm.gov.
W. B. Esman was Township Supervisor in Webber Township, Jefferson Co. in 1880.

William Esmon was a Private in Company B, 60th IL Infantry. He died from an illness while in the Service and was laid to rest in the Nashville National Cemetery Madison TN in Section C, grave 7024 His wife Anne was awarded a $8.00 per month pension.

William Estman listed birthplace as Kentucky, his wife as TN. Their age reported on the cenus states both their ages as 40. The Children listed are William 8, Thomas 5, James 5, Daniel Brittan 2, Harvey 5/12 months. Joseph 19, Mary 16, Elizabeth 14. Listed in the Census as well is William Davis age 17.The relationship is unknown, but possibly her youngest brother or a nephew. The 1850 Monroe County, TN shows John Estman in 10th Civil Districk page 10, William 4th Civil, page 024, and William 4th Civil Districk page 027.
