Thomas Cox was baptised on 18th May 1823 at Norton in Hertfordshire, son of Susan Cox, formerly Moles, and her husband George Cox, a labourer.

Thomas died as a baby, being buried at Norton on 23rd September 1823, when he was reportedly seven months old. George and Susan named their next son Thomas too, although he too was to die young.
