Note from OBR book, pg 127, part of a letter from daughter, Lottie: "My mother was a wonderful mother and had many hardships but she never complained, but taught us all the right Way and if some fell by the Wayside, it surely wasn't her fault. Praise God for that."

Obituary published in "History of Jackson Family of Hempstead, Long Island" pg 118, originally in a Fort Wayne newspaper: SUSAN H. GASKILL DIES Mrs. Susan H. Gaskill, aged 88, a resident of this county for 40 years, died at her home 1269 Franklin Ave., at 5:30 o'clock this morning of senility and carcinoma. Mrs. Gaskill was born at Bellville, Ohio Dec. 8, 1834. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. She was the widow of William Gaskill, a Civil War veteran who died 16 years ago.

Surviving are eight children, William H., -Ira, -Burvillus, -Myre, -Mrs. Prudence O. Cave, -Mrs. Jennie Valroff and Mrs. Lottie Smith all of this city and Charles Gaskill of Passadena, California, one sister Mrs. Prudence Craig of this city, one brother, Allen Jackson of Los Angeles, Cal., 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
