Stephen Hall, s/o Percival, b. Medford 2 Apr 1709, d. Sutton 29 Jan 1787, m. 17 Apr 1745 Sarah (Taft) (Brown) Read, widow respectively of Samuel Read and John Brown. "Stephen Hall was a farmer, and probably had a portion of his father's homestead in Sutton, and built the house in 1752, which is now owned by John Armsby; it was kept in the family for four generations; he was a tall, broad shouldered man, and served as a lieutenant and quartermaster in the old French and Indian war from 1755 to 1760. His wife was received from the church of Uxbridge by the church of Sutton, Feb. 23, 1746."

  4. The birth is not recorded in Medford VRs and Hall's basis for giving it is not known. He may have copied it from the older Source:Brooks, Charles. History of the Town of Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement in 1630 to 1855, p. 519. Perhaps they found something the compiler of the VRs missed? Perhaps they relied on a source other than town records? Certainly it is in agreement with the age at death, so not far off. There is a baptism of Stephen Hall in Lexington 3 Apr 1709, but no parents are named, so it is unclear if this is him.
