BIOGRAPHY: Niece Verna learned to cook chicken from Sophie. She wouldscrub it real good with a brush and soap and water. Verna still does thisalso. Verna would weave baskets. She had made one that was kinds big andhad a handle. Sophie saw this basket and really wanted it. She told Vernathat she had a beautiful doll at home that she would give to Verna if shecould have the basket. Verna gave her the basket. The next time Verna andher family went to South Dakota to visit, she was all excited aboutgetting this wonderful doll. Sophie, Verna's mom, told her that she couldnot ask for the doll and if Sophie didn't offer it to her she could notbring it up. Well, Sophie never did give Verna that doll. I wonder if sheever thought about it when she used that basket. Aunt Sophie also always told Verna that she should use face cream all thetime so she wouldn't get wrinkles. She also liked to primp and dress sovery nice. She liked to wear high heels. She would tell Verna that sheshould primp more.
