BIOGRAPHY: Olaus K Olson ( known as Shorty) was the 10th child born to Kittel and Gunhild Olson. He was born June 22nd 1888 at home in Wendell. He married Mary Holm October 18, 1918 in Sisseton, SD. They had no attendants. They went to Wendell to visit relatives after the wedding. They had three children Mae Evelyn in 1919, Helen in 1921 and Orrin in August of 1926. Olaus and Mary farmed in Victor township. Helen had two sons, they lived in Mpls. Evelyn farmed in Clinton, Mn and worked as an LPN in Graceville hospital for 30 years, she has a son and daughter.Orin(Bud) farmed in Victor History of Stony Brook Township by Louis O. Foss From the first Settlement to 1918 p254 OLAVES, HELMER AND CARL K. OLSON : Olaves K. Olson, Helmer K. Olson and Carl K. Olson are also sons of the pioneer with the many sons, Kittel Olson. These young men are single. All the sons of Mr. Olson are husky and not afraid to lend a helping hand when necessary, to which the writer can testify. He was stuck with his threshing rig at Lightning Lake, and Martin, Olaves and either Carl or Helmer gave able assistance until the machine was out of the mire.
