Will Abstract
- Samuel Robinson dec'd, Tuesday 27th Jany. 1835.. 8 P.M.
- The execution of the last will and testament of Samuel Robinson decd. was duly proven by the oath of John Bell and Silas Dobson Subscribing witnesses thereto, and with said Will, was produced a Codicil or supplement, the execution whereof, was duly proven by the oath of Samuel W. Doak and Thomas A. Oliphant Subscribing witnesses thereto and thereupon said Will and Codicil were ordered to be recorded the former whereof, is as follows:
- Will of Samuel Robinson of the County of Greene and State of Tennessee.
- First, "I have given to my two oldest sons James and John all the portions that I have designed for them".
- Second, "to Hannah and Rachel my two oldest daughters living, I will and bequeath the free and undisturbed privilege and use of the House in which they now live, as long as they please to stay in it, and likewise to each of them a horse worth sixty Dollars, and also the rents and profits arising from the improvements made on my Wilson place by Harbert Barem".
- Third, "to Margaret my youngest daughter I will and bequeath fifty Dollars in trade and a good suit of clothes, one year after my decease".
- Forthly, "To Hannah Jane Milborn, Margaret's oldest daughter, I will and bequeath one good suit of clothes as soon as she becomes of age".
- Fifthly, "Margaret Milborun's son Samuel R. Milburn I will and bequeath on his become of age, one good suit of clothing and twenty five dollars in cash".
- Sixthly, "as to my stock of Books that may be (P 131) on hand at my decease, I will and bequeath them in the following manner (Viz.), that my three daughters living, and my two youngest sons shall share them between them, the two boys to have one half. And in case they cannot divide them in their mutual satisfaction, my executors are hereby authorised to make the division".
- Seventhly, "and lastly, after all my just debts are paid and funeral expenses discharged, I will and bequeath to Samuel E. Robinson and William B. Robinson, my two younger Sons all my remaining estate whither land or other property, to be so divided between them that it shall be as near equal as possible when Samuel E. Robinson's schooling is counted in his divide.

- Codicil
- The Codicil or supplement. "I Samuel Robinson of Greene County & State of Tennessee, do this 18th day of June A.D. 1834, make and publish this Codicil or Supplement to my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, I will that my colured man Charles being my slave be set free from all my Heirs, executors assigns & c. according to a special law of this state for that purpose on his making payment of a balance now due me, to my Executors, of two hundred & thirty dollars & fifty six cents in produce such as.... I also hereby appoint John Robinson & John McGaughey executors of my last Will & Testament of this Codicil or supplement
