    Ruth Glass Vance was the daughter of Robert GLASS and Sarah Elizabeth (Fulton) GLASS.
    She married Rev. James Vance Oct 1, 1798, in VA at Long Meadows, which was the home of her parents.
    They moved to Middletown, KY in autumn of 1799, where her husband assumed the pastorate of the Middletown Presbyterian Church as its first pastor.
    He taught a classical school as well as ministered to two other churches in the area at the same time period.
    They raised three sons: Robert G. Vance, M.D.; Samuel Davies Vance, and William Rannels Vance.
