Information on Robert Glass

From "Pioneers of Old Frederick Country, Virginia", by Cecil O'dell, pg. 305:

Robert Glass (b. 1716c and probably son of Samuel) bought 544 acres from John Bullock prior to having the land surveyed on 19 March 1750/51 and received a Fairfax grant for it on 2 November 1754. The tract is located on the north side of Opequon Creek (Tract 168, Map 8) with County Highway 622/Cedar Creek Grade road crossing the northwest corner and County Highway 621 running south from Highway 622 to the southeast corner of the tract.

Robert was deceased by 7 February 1797 when his will (dated 13 July 1796) was proved in Frederick County Court. He bequeathed 200 acres of the 544-acre tract to his son Samuel. The remaining 344 acres were to be sold and the money divided as follows: 2 shares each to sons Robert, James and Joseph; 1 share each to wife Sarah and daughters Sarah, Susannah, Ruth and Margaret. He also willed one share to his daughter Martha Shirer with the stipulation that it be held in trust by his son Robert. "If Martha should receive a reasonable allowance from her husband Henry Shirer (Sherrard) from whom she is now separated she may have her share." He bequeathed all the land in Kentucky to his sons Robert, James and Joseph. He left five pounds each to his daughter Mary (wife of James Vance) and his grandson Robert Vance and 10 pounds to his daughter Ann. Daughter Elizabeth's husband was in Kentucky at the time. Sarah was deceased by 4 December 1815 when her will (dated 6 August 1812) was proved in Frederick County Court. She listed her sons Robert D. Glass and Joseph Glass "now in Kentucky".
