VA records when he was married to Rosannah, daughter of Francis Beatie, February 24, 1789 by Rev. Charles Cummings. The Beatties arrived in Augusta Co. in the 1740s, by 1750 were living on Kerr Creek in now Rockbridge Co. and removed to middle fork of Holston in 1772.
