Church Cemetery, Augusta Co., Virginia Note: Chester County, Pennsylvania Wills, 1713-1825, ancestry.com Date: 13 Jan 1763; Prove Date: 13 Aug 1766 Remarks: Hugh Tarbet of Oxford. January 13, 1763. August 13,1766. Provides for wife Katherine. To son John Tarbet £10 and large Bible. To daughter Jane, wife of James Read £5. To daughter Ealse, wife of John Faron £5. To daughter Katherine £5 and a cow. To son Hugh tract of land in Oxford containing 150 acres adjoining John Love, William Robb and David Brooks and £3. Remainder divided among children, viz., David, Margaret, Elizabeth, Allen, Jannet, and Robert Tarbet. Executors:Dorrinton Boyle, David Simpson and Hugh Tarbet. Witnesses: JohnPoston, Matthew Young, James Dunn. This Robert arrived in Augusta Co., Virginia after his brother Hugh about 1780. Robert's tombstone is still readable @@ BethelPresb. If however this is Robert Torbett's marker, it is noteworthy that there are 2 small stones with the letters BT and PT on them. Possibly marking the graves of two children who died in infancy. |
