Graduated from Smith in 1943 and moved to Chicago and then Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She appeared in 11 feature films during the 1940s and 50s. She met Ronald Reagan in 1949, and married him in a small ceremony in 1952.
As First Lady, she supervised a major renovation of the White House and launched the "Just Say No" campaign against drug use.
