Maurice L. (Mossie) Donovan

Maurice L. (Mossie) Donovan, 65, 61 Bluff St., cattle buyer for the Dubuque Packing Co., died at 4:30 pm Tuesday at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.

Friends may call after 7 pm at the Hoffmann Mortuary, from where services will be held at 9 am Friday to St. Raphael's Cathedral.

Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, North Garryowen. The Rosary will be recited at 8 pm Thursday.

Mr. Donovan was born Feb. 22, 1892, in the Garryowen-Bernard community and resided in the area all his life.

On May 19, 1914, he married Rachel Shannon at LaMotte, Ia.

He was a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral parish.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Gerald and Leo Donovan, both of Dubuque, Raymond and Wilfred (Bill) Donovan, both of Bernard, and Al Donovan, Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Mrs. William (Ethel) Feeney and Miss Kathleen Donovan, both of Dubuque; four brothers, Richard Donovan, Dubuque, John and Martin Donovan, both of Lansing, Mich., and Cornelius Donovan, San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Rose Barrett, Dubuque, and 19 grandchildren.
