Maude A. Hughes Maude A. Hughes, 97, formerly of Fremont, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at the home of her son, Melvin Parks, Ashland. She lived with him t he past one and a half years. She was born Jan. 10, 1877, to the late Samuel H. and Sophie Fox (Hague) Wilson. She came to the United States in 1881 and traveled through most of the states in a covered wagon. She had been a resident of this area since 1890. Her first husband, William Parks, and her second, George Hughes, both preceded her. Other survivors are sons, Wilson Parks, Fostoria; Owen Hughes, Newark, N.Y .: two daughters: Mrs. Opal Smith and Mrs. Dallas (Verna) Peden, both of Fremont; 72 grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Louise Pappenfoos, Fremont. Services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Weller-Wonderly Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Siemsen officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery .
