Personal History

Mary Kittredge, daughter of Thomas Kittredge Jr. and Anna (Thorndike), was born 16 August 1777, in Tewksbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1][2]

Jesse Manning Jr. of Billerica and Polly Kittredge were married 15 December 1796, in Tewksbury.

In her father's will dated 14 December 1805 and probated in 1806, Mary inherited the use of two feather beds, furniture, and household goods for her natural life, and after the death of her mother, “if she shall not see cause to live with the said Jesse Manning Jr. or be married again I give her the use & improvement of the two lower rooms and the [cellar] under the same”. She was also bequeathed an allowance of goods “so long as her present surcumstances shall remain as they now are” and she continued to live in the house.
