Census[2] 6 Jun 1841 Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, EnglandGreat Cutts

Mary Ashby was baptised on 20th December 1818 at Ayot St Lawrence in Hertfordshire, daughter of Elizabeth Ashby, formerly Hornet, and her husband William Ashby, a labourer. The family did not live in Ayot St Lawrence itself at the time of Mary's baptism, but in the neighbouring parish of Kimpton.

Mary appears in the 1841 census living at Great Cutts in the parish of Wheathampstead (which borders both Ayot St Lawrence and Kimpton). She was living with her brother Edward and their aunt Mary Hornet, who was their mother's brother John's widow. Mary has yet to be researched after 1841.
