The birth and death dates are taken from a photo of her gravestone at Find-a-Grave website. The dates on her gravestone are similar to those given in Mr. Stoutenburgh’s book, i.e. “b. Oct. 2, 1824; living in Mch., 1902”. Obviously, she was still alive in March of 1902 when he was compiling the book [it was published that year]. The year of her birth given on her tombstone is one year off; this could be due to an error on Mr. Stoutenburgh’s case, a mistake by the stonemason, or perhaps they were still viewing a year as beginning on April First, as was the custom up until the 1750’s
