I expect Margaret was actually born sometime before 1796, as she was married 1 Nov. 1810, to Jonathan DeWeese (1785-1841), but the date given comes from a DeWeese family record. I am afraid I do not know her parents' names, either, but expect she was connected somehow to the Irvin/Irwin/Erwin family who were rather prominent in both Mecklenburg and Burke Counties. She and Jonathan had eleven children. In 1860, Margaret was living with her widowed daughter, Nancy Adeline DeWeese Wilkinson (1827-1862) at Mountain Island, Gaston County, NC. As yet, I do not know where she was buried.
The children of Margaret Boyd Irvin and Jonathan DeWeese were:
1. Jane M. DeWeese (1811-1855) m. Edwin Templeton in 1830, 7 children, I believe they went to Tipton Co., Tenn.
2. Henrietta DeWeese (1813-1890) m. John Sloan Hill in 1835, 9 children, went to Tipton Co., Tenn.
3. Abner DeWeese (1815-c.1871) m. Jane Elizabeth Knox, went to Mississippi, then to Tipton Co., Tenn.
4. Margaret A.. DeWeese (1817-1867) m. James Reid in 1841
5. Catherine Boyd DeWeese (1819-1885) m. Burwell Cashion in 1839, 10 children
6. Rachel DeWeese (1821-1879) m. Hiram W. Hall in 1843.
7. Mary Amanda DeWeese (1824-1851) m. William R. Wilkinson in 1841, 6 children. After her death, he married her sister Nancy Adeline.
8. Elizabeth E. DeWeese (1825-1849) m. Samuel James Armour in 1843, 3 daughters
9. Nancy Adeline DeWeese (1827-1862) m. William R. Wilkinson in 1852, 3 daughters.
10. Mary Helen DeWeese (1834-1885) m. Alexander White in 1852, 3 children.
11. Francis F. DeWeese (1837-1868) m. Julia Ann Atwell in 1861, 4 children. He served in the Confederate Army.
