    Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Yocum Cooke, 86, pioneer resident of the Colockum and the Wenatchee Valley, will be held from the Jones and Jones Chapel Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Wenatchee City Cemetery. R. E. Patterson will sing, with Miss Carolyn Sterling at the organ. The following will serve as pallbearers: Gordon Cooke, Ed Ingersoll, Tom Goodwin, Rex Shamley, Porter Yocum, and Ben Yocum.

    Mrs. Cooke died in a Bellingham Hospital Tuesday following a short illness. Born July 26, 1859 [1862], at Rochester, Minn., she came to Ellensburg as a young child. She was one of the first school teachers in the Kittitas Valley. There she met Edwin N. Cooke and was married in 1880 at Ellensburg.

    She came with her husband to the Colockum in 1880 where they operated a large stock ranch for many years. Later, they moved to Entiat and took up a homestead. Mr. Cooke died in 1925. Mrs. Cooke lived in Entiat until the late thirties when she went to live with her children.

    Survivors are one son, Jay Cooke of Bethel, Alaska, and one brother, Alva Yocum of Auburn; 18 grandchildren. Her son, Claude Cooke, died ten days ago in Bellingham. The body was received this morning by Jones and Jones.
