Obituaries Luke Elbers was born May 14, 1866 on the farm home near Coopersville and departed this life September 3, 1933, at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 20 days. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow and three daughters, Mrs. J.W. Laug, Mrs. Neal Doornbos and Mrs. Herbert Laug; two sisters and three brothers besides a host of relatives and friends.

 He united with the Coopersville Reformed church January 25, 1926 and continued a faithful member.  He manifested by his life his faith in the lord Jesus Christ and died with the full assurance of eternal salvation.  He could say with the Psalmist, "In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid."

LUKE ELBERS

 Luke Elbers passed away Sunday afternoon at his home here, after a short illness.  Funeral services were held at the Reformed church Wednesday afternoon, with Rev. J.H. Bruggers in charge, and burial was in the local cemetery.  He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mrs. Herbert Laug, Mrs. Neal Doornbos and Mrs. Jon W. Laug, and by seven grandchildren, all of this vicinity.
