From the Monona (IA) Leader Mrs. Marovets Last Rites Held Funeral services for Mrs. John Marovets of Ionia were held Monday morning, Nov. 18, at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery with Rev. John Peters officiating at the requiem mass. Music was furnished by the children's choir, accompanied by Sister Mary Benigna. Mrs. Marovets died Friday morning at 1:30 am at the Charles City hospital after a lingering illness. As Kathryn, she was born the daughter of Frank and Kathryn Lestina Nov. 18, 1891, at Beulah and received her education in the rural schools. She was married to John Marovets Jan. 9, 1912, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Monona. They lived in Monona for several years before moving to Ionia. Mr. Marovets was section foreman for the Milwaukee railroad. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four children. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Amos (Helen) Springer and Mrs. John (Anna Mae) Winters of Ionia; two sons, Leo of Waterloo and Leonard of Ionia; and four sisters, Mrs. Jake (Frances) Papachek of Warwich, N.D., Mrs. Ben (Ann) Klima of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Will (Mary) Blietz of Portage, Wis., and Mrs. Frank (Rose) Klima of Monona, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Joseph Winters and John Brown of Ionia, Giles Blietz, Gerald Lestina, Ben Marovets and Robert Bluck Jr. _________________________
Rites Pending at Nashua for Mrs. Marovets NASHUA -- Arrangements are pending at the Chenoweth Funeral Home for Mrs. Katherine Marovets, 64, who died early Friday at the Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City. She had been ill for some time. Surviving Mrs. Marovets are two daughters, Mrs. Amos Springer and Mrs. John Winters, both of rural Ionia; two sons, Leo, Waterloo, and Leonard, Sibley; 19 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and four sisters.
