  15. The Late Mrs K E Wardle
    The late Mrs Kate Ellen Wardle wife of Mr Andrew T Wardle contractor of 228 High Street, Fremantle, died on Thursday last. The Funeral took place yesterday afternoon, where the remains were interred in the Fremantle Cemetery. The cortege moved from the residence to the Church of Christ, High Street, Fremantle where a service was conducted by Pastor R Raymond, assisted by Mr WJ Thompson. Mrs Mitchell officiated at the organ and played the Marche Funebre, while the casket was carried from the church. Mr Raymond also officiated at the graveside and Mr Thompson. the Late Mrs Wardle was born in London, England and came to this State 46 years ago. She married in Fremantle and lived there practically ever since. She was also an ardent worker for the the Red Cross and other societies for the relief of soldiers. Mrs Wardle was of bright disposition, always anxious for the welfare of others and held the affection of all with whom she became associated. She leaves a husband, two sons, three duaghters, and ten grandchildren to maurn their loss.
    The chief mouners were Messrs AT Wardle (husband), and RT & HA Wardle (sons), Mesdames F Rochford and P Paull (daughters), Mr C Ellis (brother) Mrs R.P. Kennedy (sister) Mesdames RT and HA Wardle (daughters-in-laws), Mr P. Paull (son-in-law) Mrs C Ellis (sister-in-law), Mr R.P. Kennedy (brother-in-law), Max Rochfort and Reg Wardle (grandsons), Mesdames A Atkinson And A.G. Leake (nieces), Messrs A.G. Leake and H.T. Howson (nephews) and Mr & Mrs W. Murray (cousins). The pall bearers were the Mayor of Fremantle (Mr.F.E.Gibson), Councillors R. ??? and J. Stevens,, and the Town Clerk (Mr. Jas. Sheppard), reprenting the Fremantle City Council, Messers. C.A.G. Payne (Central Church of Christ), S. Thomson, G. Fieldus, and W. Sauders (Fremantle Church o Christ), Aidan Bryan (Fremantle Business Men's Assoication), C.M. Furdle, FJ., W.E. Stoiter, and G Davies.
