Death

Joseph died on 22 May 1900 in a mining accident at the Consett Iron Co., Ltd., in Medomsley, where he was a hewer. "While setting some timber under a stone, it fell away at a slippery parting and caught and killed him. Stone measured 5 ft. 6 ins. by 7 ft. 11 ins. by 8-1/2 ins. thick." S3
