Dunbar, Jonathan - born 4/15/1762 near Lancaster [County], Pennsylvania; entered service 1780 in Augusta County, Virginia; moved after Revolutionary War to Bath County, Virginia, thence to Greenbrier County, Virginia, thence to Monroe County, Virginia, thence in 1806 to Nicholas County, Virginia, where granted Pension in 1834. F-S19286, R862.

    Jonathan served the Colonies in the VA militia during the American Revolution and was granted a pension in 1834. The family moved to present day Nicholas County VA in 1806.

    Jonathan Dunbar.

    Jonathan Dunbar was born June 15, 1762 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He moved his family to Augusta County, Virginia and there he served in the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War. In 1834 he was given a pension for his military service. However, he didn't live but a few months after recieving the pension. He married Sally Campbell May 6, 1790 in Augusta County, Virginia and they had four children. Jonathan passed away November 1834 in Nicholas County, West Virginia..
