Jonas settled in Jaffrey, Cheshire, New Hampshire on Lot 1, Range 9. They had five children: Martin, Persis Welch, Abigail, Jonas and Jonas Welch[2]. In 1820, Jonas father, Abraham was living with the family as it appears his wife has died[3]. His father is still living with them in 1830[4]. In 1840, Jonas and his wife are living alone[5]. On the 1850 Census Jonas and Abigail are listed along with a girl living with them, probably their granddaughter, as their daughter, Abigail, married Benjamin Fay. Jonas and Abigail are found on their last census in 1850, living in Fitzwilliam Township[7]. Jonas Ross died in Cheshire, New Hampshire on 31 May 1861. Abigail died on 1 Nov 1865. They are both buried in Phillips Heil Cemetery in Jaffrey, New Hampshire[8] along with several of their children.
