Parentage

Some researchers have placed this John Short as a son of Thomas Short and his wife Nancy, of Frederick County, Virginia, but there are no records in early Frederick County to support this. Recent research of the records in Frederick and Augusta County have determined that Samuel Short was the likely father of John Short, and Thomas Short is likely the sibling of John, and not his father.
