About John Moyer

The father of Henry Moyer, John, of Berks Co., PA, Bethel Township, died in 1794, leaving real estate valued at 1,700 pounds to Henry, "his heirs and assigns forever." Henry was executor for his father and with Thomas Kerr and Jacob Arts of Berks Co.; gives bond of 480 pounds, the mother to have the interest from said bond as long as she lives. Her name is not given in these papers, but in the Shuey Genealogy, find her as the second wife of Martin Shuey, (son of Daniel Shuey, the immigrant), who died in 1801. Margaret Moyer Shuey died in 1806. Her will dated May 30, 1806, names her children, viz. "children of my deceased son Henry Moyer; to Elizabeth Moyer, child of my deceased son Philip Moyer; my eleven children, Christian, John, Jacob, Michael, Peter, Rudolph and Abraham Moyer; daughters, Anna, wife of Jacob Lesh; Elizabeth, wife of Michael Frantz; Barbara, wife of Jacob Kline; Margaret, wife of Rudolph Hunsiker."

John2 MOYER (Rudolph1 MEYER) was born Abt. 1727 in Pennsylvania, and died Bef. 31-October-1793 in Berks County, PA.. He married Margaret UNKNOWN Bef. 1755 in Lancaster County, PA.. She was born Abt. 1730, and died Aft. 30-May-1806 in Bethel Township, Berks County, PA.. More About John MOYER: Burial: Bethel Twp., Berks Co. Pa. Notes for Margaret UNKNOWN: Summary of Martin Shuey's Will. The will is recorded in Berks Co Vol 4, Page 62, Dated 07 Mar 1795 and probated 25 Nov 1801. NOTE: (abstract says 1810 in error)SLR From: "Sharon Roach" <froach598@worldnet.att.net> He left to Margaret seven acres, 20 perches of land for life or as long as she remained a widow; plus "bed and bedstead", one cow, "my stove pipe" (?), table, house clock, chest, "her clothes and her side saddle", and "as much household goods as she stands in need of". To his children: John Martin, Catharine (wife of Philip Moyer), Anna Maria (wife of Henry Holtzman), Barbara (wife of John Seerer), and Margaret (wife of John Moyer), he left "...500 pounds to be equally divided..." The balance of his estate was to be divided among his children, with one share divided among the children of his (most likely deceased) daughter Magdalena, wife of George Seerer. The 100 pounds George Seerer owed him was forgiven.

    states there were many Unmarked Graves..
    in this Frantz Cemetery..
    It is believed that this is where the Meyer/Moyer Family
    were buried, this Cemetery was on Rudolph Meyer' Land
    per a recorded plot map...
    which was divided in four sections, and given to his 4 children to live on,
    in His will of 1767 He states that His oldest son Henry is to be the Guardian of his Mother Barbara.
