[edit] Revolutionary War Pension InformationInformation from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 2, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Hanna, John, entered service 1777 in Greenbrier County, Virginia; granted Pension age 68 in Jackson County, Ohio, 1825 when had wife nearly as old as he, daughter Elizabeth age 22 & daughter Martha age 20 + grandchildren: Tyrus age 13, Anson age 7, Jane age 5, & James age 4, all resided with him; wife died 3/1829; soldier died 4/11/1845, leaving children: Christopher, John, Joseph, Elizabeth A. Scurlock, Nancy Walton, & Martha Callaghan; 2 other children already dec'd but had left heirs mentioned but not named; query letter in file states soldier died in Jackson County, Ohio; query letter in file 1921 from descendant Miss Helen Henderson, Chicago, Il; query letter in file 1926 from great grandson Guy Stevenson of Wellston, Ohio.
