Although I don't connect with the Kentucky Dickeys, from one source I copied the following: "Rebecca Dickey was born about 1766 to George Dickey Sr. (1742-1817) and the former Mary "Polly" Scott. She married May 7, 1789 David McNeely in Kentucky." In a previous paragraph the source states: "John Dickey was born 1765 in Albemarle County, Virginia to George Dickey Sr. and to the former Mary "Polly" Scott. "John made the migration to kentucky in 1789 with his parents and married Rebecca Rutledge in Madison County on July 9, 1789." My John Dickey's will (Augusta County VA, Book 10, pp. 312 and 313) states: "...I allow the over plus of my personal estate after paying the above to be equally divided between my five daughters, namely, Jean Young, Elin Lamb, Mary Johnston (my ancestor), Margret Rankin, and Beckey Dickey except... He mentions also, "4th. I allow my land in Matison County State of Kentucky to be equally divided likewise between my five daughters above named which land they may sell and divide the money equally amongst them. They may divide the land equally between themselves whichever of the ways they see proper or can agree on and lastly..." John Dickey has a brother who also had land in Madison County, but it seems that John did not live there; if he did, it was for only a very short period. If you have access to Madison County KY deeds, I would suggest that you search them for transfer of that land. I have quite a bit of data on Capt Dickey, but nothing other than the will that would tie him to a Rebecca. It would appear that she was the youngest daughter, being the only unmarried one, but that may not have been the case. Good luck. Harry Gibson
