    John Dice served in Company B and H in the 14th Virginia Cavalry. He was "killed by accidental discharge of a gun at the headwaters of Walkers Creek on 30 Mar 1870." Robert J. Driver Jr.'s book, 14th Virginia Cavalry, 1988, H.E. Howard, Inc., Lynchburg, VA., page 117. He died 30 Mar 1870.
