Jesse [Moffett] was born 2 March 1759. He was a son of Henry Moffett, born 1705 in Scotland and of Henry's second wife, Elizabeth Anderson. She was a younger sister of Henry's first wife, Mary, daughters of Walter and Susanna Prow Anderson. Jesse married, 1782, Elizabeth Scott (?jmh). Their first child was probably Hannah who married, 1805, Dozier Bragg, 1769VA-1841IL. Siblings: Lucinda, 1783VA m 1810 Smauel Vannetta. Daniel, 1792VA-1847IL. m 1817 Lucinda Rector.
