JANE lived in Virginia. In 1785 Jane was listed on the Thomas Jones' Tax list for Campbell County, Virginia. She was assessed taxes on 1 black over 16 years old, 2 horses, and 10 cattle. November 1812. Jane Rector, relict of Jacob Rector, Lewis Rector, Thomas & Charlotte Butler of Campbell Co. sell Jonathan Bailey 200 acre tract formerly the residence of Jacob Rector. Lies on waters of Stonewall Creek. Witness to both deeds to Bailey are Jacob R. Butler, Charles Wright, and Bartlett Wiley. Only Jane signs with mark. Campbell County Deed Book 9, page 574. Jane died in 1813 in Campbell County, Virginia. November 1813. Jane Rector for love and affection (1) to granddaughter, Mary Jane Butler, dau. of son-in-law Thomas Butler, a 5-year-old negro boy and (2) to four grandsons William, Thomas, Henry, and John, sons of Thomas Butler, negro man about 21, and boy aged 3, both to be sold after her death and proceeds divided equally.
