EDEN - James Esmel Jeffries, 78, of 1407 E. Meadow Road died June 27, 1993, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Draper, where he was a member. Burial will be in Dan View Cemetery.

A native of Rockingham County, he was a retired farmer.

Surviving are wife, Helen R. Jeffries; son, Jerald L. Jeffries of Eden; sister, Nannie Prett of Charlotte; brothers, Payton Jeffries, Oliver Jeffries, Curtis Jeffries, Clay Jeffries, all of Eden; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Reynolds Funeral Home 7-9 tonight.
