    'An undated note by Jakob Fehr (1859-1952), grandson of Jakob Fehr (1809-77), states as follows: "I must also make note that my grandfather died in the summer of 1877 and not '76 as I had written in the letter. ... The house which they were building above ground was ... almost finished to the point that they could move into it at the time that he died. The funeral was already held in the new house" ...
    Furthermore, Peter Zacharias, Reinland, page 34, has the information that Jakob Fehr Sr. completed his new housebarn in 1877, something that would have been impossible had he died in 1876.'

    The editors compared Quebec Passenger Lists to Hamburg, Germany Passenger Lists, and where the information was different, included the Hamburg information in square brackets [ ]. R169-2 and R93-4 refer to pages in the Reinlaender Gemeinde Buch (1880-1903). Hoffnungsfeld/WR refers to a village in the Mennonite West Reserve of Manitoba, Canada.
