    Jacob Wampler was the son of George Wampler, Sr., and Elizabeth Stephan (Steffy). He was born Dec. 17, 1778, in PA. He died in Wythe County in 1840 and was buried at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. On December 14, 1804, Jacob was married to Esther Anderson, daughter of Issac and Jane Campbell Anderson. This couple had 11 children: Austin C., Jane A., Rufus Morgan, Catherine, Eliza G., Isaac A., Epharim W., Evalina Esther, William L., Martha G., and Harvey S.. Wampler.
