Information on Jacob Harmon

Jacob Herrmann, aged 40, had also brought his family from the Palatine region in Germany. Jacob, his wife Maria Catherina, aged 33, and six children arrived in Philadelphia on September 28th 1733, a year and a week after the Mann's arrival. The Herrmann's crossed the Atlantic on the Brigantine Richard and Elizabeth with Christopher Clymer as Master. Again, as with the Mann's, the spelling of a German name took many turns. The name Herrmann was even written two different ways by Captain Clymer. On one list of passengers the Captain wrote Herman and on another list he wrote Harmon.
