  2.   Genealogy.com.

There are a number of reseachers that show Benjamin Campbell (born abt 1768 in Augusta, Virginia, married Chloe Farris) as the son of of Hugh Campbell (born abt 1737 in Rockbridge, Virginia, died 10 January 1807 in Madison County, Kentucky, married Mary Hanna).

Is there someone out there who can give me a citation for the evidence of record connecting Hugh and Benjmain as father and son?

I descend from Benjamin's son, John and his wife Frances (Fanny) Smith. This group lived in Cumberland County and neighboring Clinton County, Kentucky. My third great-grandfather was Benjamin Alexander Campbell, one of John's sons.Benjamin Alexander Campbell died in camp at Jamestown, Kentucky during the Civil War.He is buried in the military cemetary at Nancy, Kentucky.

Benjmain Alexander Campbell's son, Luther Marion Campbell also died early.Luther Marion Campbell's son, Albert Sweden Campbell, was raised in part after he was orphaned by his paternal grandmother Lavenia Campbell. She supported Albert and his orphaned cousin, Blaine Campbell, on the government pension she received from the Civil War military service of her desceased husband, Benjamin Alexander Campbell.

Albert also lived after the death of his parents with his mother's family. His mother was Nannie Belle Wright, daughter of James Rily Wright and Rebecca Elizabeth Blair.
