Hester Griswold was born on 1 January 1689 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Thomas Griswold and Hester Drake. Hester Griswold married Daniel Gunn, son of John Gunn and Mary Williams, on 15 October 1712. May have been living in Sheffield, Massachusetts at time of death.

Hester Griswold is the daughter of Hester Drake, who is the daughter of Mary Wolcott, who is the sister of Simon Wolcott, whose son Roger is a governor of Connecticut, whose son Oliver is a signer of the Declaration of Independence. She was a 2nd cousin to Roger.
