Married to Hester Griswold on 14 October 1712 in Westfield, MA, by John More, Justice, Hampden County, Massachusetts.

They had 5 Children. John, father of Daniel, and Capt. John, his brother, were especially well-considered in Westfield, serving in many offices of trust. Daniel, however, is not mentioned in any important records and disappears from the records after the birth of his last child, evidently having moved from Westfield. Daniel is mentioned in the will of his brother John January 19, 1747, as legatee of a Great Bible. The death or burial place of Daniel and Hester are unknown. [The Griswold Family, 72]

Daniel and Hester probably move to Sheffield sometime after the marriage of daughter Azubah in Westfield in 1734 and before the marriage in Sheffield of daughter Mary to Captain David Whitney of Canaan in 1739. Their son Alexander marries Elizabeth Owen of Sheffield in 1751 and son Daniel Jr. marries Esther King of Great Barrington in about 1753.
