Daily Times-News, The Saturday, December 14, 1974 Hervey Sylvanius SHOFFNER, 55, of 1536 N. Tremont Drive, Asheboro was dead on arrival at Randolph Hospital Thursday afternoon after one month's illness. A native of Alamance County, he had lived in Asheboro for 37 years. He was a World War II veteran and a fixer for Bossong Hosiery Mill. was a member of the Balfour Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs.. Lois Loflin SHOFFNER of the home: sons, Hervey S. SHOFFNER, Jr.., Timothy V. SHOFFNER and Michael L. SHOFFNER, all of Asheboro; mother, Mrs.. Blanche SHOFFNER, of Rt. 2, Snow Camp; sisters, Miss Ruby SHOFFNER of Greensboro, Mrs.. Walter Newton and Mrs.. Graham Johnson, both of Burlington; brothers, Phalli SHOFFNER of Pilot Mountain and the Rev. Bill SHOFFNER of Hickory, the Rev. Winfred SHOFFNER and Dover SHOFFNER, both of Rt. 2, Snow Camp. Final rites will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Balfour Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Patterson and the Rev. P.W. Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in the Randolph Memorial Park. The body will remain at the Ridge Funeral Home until taken to the church one hour before the service. The fami- ly will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
