Utica Daily Press, 15 May 1957: HARRY DURGEE AT 61, BORN, DIED IN SAME HOUSE Camden-- Harry Durgee, 61, died May 14, 1957 at his home, 56 Railroad ST, the same house in which he was born, after a two-month illness. He was born Sept. 27, 1895, a son of Lewis and Caroline Smart Durgee. He married Lillian Palmer on Feb. 22, 1918 in Camden with the Rev. J.L. Short officiating. He was a member of Arthur S. Moran Post 66, American Legion and a 40-year member of the local fire department. Mr. Durgee worked for the Hardin Chair Factory, Conants Chair Factory, Camden Wire Mill, Camden High School where he was a custodian, and J.M. Young & Sons. He leaves his wife; three sons, Lyle Durgee of Syracuse, Roland Durgee and Zane Durgee, both of Camden; two grandsons, David and Gary, both of Camden; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be... Friday from the B.A. Sanborn & Sons Funeral Home here with the Rev. Allison C. Wood, pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery here.

Syracuse Herald Journal, 15 May 1957: H. DURGEE DIES AT 61 IN CAMDEN Harry Durgee of 56 Railroad St. died yesterday at his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1895 in the family home where he died. His parents were Lewis and Caroline Smart Durgee. He married Lillian Palmer Feb. 22, 1918 in this village. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of... American Legion... He was a wood worker for the Conant Chair factory, the F. S. Harden Furniture Co., and at J.M. Youngs & Son Furniture Co. until he retired last March due to poor health. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Lyle of Syracuse, Roland and Zane, both of this village, and two grandsons.
