The family has been in quarantine several weeks and all have been sick except the baby, eight months old. Raynard broke through the ice and was seen by a group of girls who ran for help to the VanRy greenhouse nearby. Charles VanRy rushed to the scene with a plank, by the aid of which Raynard was brought to safety. The stream has a depth of about 20 feet in the center and a rapid current... He had been ill since February and seriously ill for five weeks. He was born here Sept. 5, 1924, a son of Harry and Lillian Palmer Durgee. He attended Camden High School, United Church and Sunday school. He leaves his parents; three brothers, Lyle in the South Pacific, Roland and Zane, Camden; and his aged grandmother, Mrs. Lou Durgee. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. B.A. Walton, pastor of the United Church, at the B.A. Sanborn & Son Funeral Home on Saturday... and interment will be made in Forest Lawn Cemetery...
