Harold George Yearling was born in 1902 at Plymouth in Devon, son of Annie Yearling, formerly May, and her husband Thomas Gilbert Yearling, a riveter and plasterer. Harold appears in the 1911 census living with his parents and siblings in Plymouth.

In 1932, aged 30, Harold married Violet Bridges. They do not appear to have had any children.

Harold died in 1967, aged 65.
