OBITUARY

Hannah Nye was born July 20th, 1816, in Wooster, Ohio. On the 10th of December, 1835 she was married to John R. Blaine, Esq., at Warsaw, Ind. for nearly 40 years they have journeyed side by side along life's pathway, until noon on yesterday, the 21st inst., when she was called away to fairer fields and brighter scenes beyond the narrow river.

Deceased was the mother of ten children, four of whom went before her, being at present residents of this city. More than thirty years ago she was united with the Presbyterian church, and throughout her long pilgrimage her life has been a beautiful illustration of womanly virtue and of Christian graces, and having borne with becoming fortitude and patience the pains of mortality, she passed peacefully and hopefully from this vale of tears and sufferings.

«i»"So fades a summer cloud away,
So sinks the gale when storms are o'er,
So gently shuts the eye of day,
So dies a wave along the shore.
"Life's labor done, as sinks the clay,
Light from its load the spirit flies,
While heaven and earth combine to say,
"How blest the righteous when he dies!"

«/i»Her affectionate husband and devoted children have done what love could do to alleviate suffering and gently smooth the way down into the dark valley and shadow, and weep that they can do no more, but not as those who have no hope.

Funeral services will be held at the family residence, corner of North Water and Marietta streets, at 3 p.m., to-morrow, the Rev. Mr. Best officiating. The remains will then be accompanied to their resting place in the family burial grounds at Leesburg, Ind. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the services.
