The Lidgerwood Monitor Thursday, 20 February 1930 Front Page GEORGE BAUCH PASSES: George Bauch, a prominent farmer of Kingston township, passed away Sunday evening at 6:10 at the hospital. Friday morning he was in his apartment [apparent] good health and attended church services. In the afternoon, he came to this city to purchase some seeds and while examine some see in one of the stores in this city suffered a stroke of appolexy. He was taken to the hospital for treatment but never rallied from the stroke and passes on Sunday evening. The family notified and some of them were with him and some of them were with him from that time until the end came. The deceased was almost 69 years old, and was born at Poppelau, province of Silecia, German Poland. He came to this country with his parents when he was six years old and they settled at Arcadia, Wisconsin in 1869. In April 1882 he came to this locally with this parents and they settled on a farm near Geneseo and he has since resided in that locality. He was married on November 26, 1889 to Miss Pauline Kuczera and 13 children were born to them, of which two passed away in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Murach died in 1918 in the flue epidemic. The ten children surviving are: Mrs. Jos. Slabik, Geneseo; Mrs. Louis Slabik, Chicago; Mrs. Staehnke, Chicago; Mrs. Joseph Teusch, Geneseo; Mrs. Pampuch, Independence, Wisconsin; Frank, Milwaukee; John G., Lawrence, Pauline and George, all of Geneseo. Three sisters reside in Wisconsin and Mrs. Valentine Resler of Geneseo. The deceased was one of the few pioneer settlers of Kingston township, a hard working man who had accumulated considerable property. He was agressive in his farming methods and aided much in building up the community in which he made his home. The community looses one of its best citizens and many friends extend the family their sympathy. The funeral services were held at St. Martin's church at Geneseo on Wednesday, February 19th and was attended by the largest number of persons of any service in the history of the parish. References
