[Sordelet Family .FTW] Frank and Emma moved to Columbus, OH and then to Chicago, IL, where Frank worked on the Elevated Railroad in downtown Chicago. OBITUARY Frank Sordelet, age 63 years, formerly a resident of Fort Wayne, died at his home in Chicago at 2 o'clock yesterday morning, following an illness of complications. While residing in Fort Wayne, Mr. Sordelet for many years was connected with the Louis Wolf company. He also took an active part in politics in the city and Allen county. He was especially well known in Harlan. He was a devout member of the Catholic church. He moved to Chicago several years ago, where he held a responsible position with the Elevated Railway company. He is survived by the widow: two daughters, Helen and Mrs George Graham; three sons, Edward and Henry of Chicago and Clarence of New Orleans; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Rorick, of Jefferson township, Mrs. William Clutter of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Peter Urbine of Fort Wayne, Mrs. John Bickel, of Huntington, Ind.,; and three brothers, Edward of Washington township, John of Jefferson township and Charles of Pueblo, Colo Funeral services will be held Wednesday in Chicago and will be attended by relatives from Fort Wayne. CENSUS 1910 Columbus, OHFrank and his family were renting a home on 71 West Tenth Ave, Columbus, OH. Frank was age 50, married 27 years and was selling dry goods. His wife, Emmaline, was age 47 and had 5 births, 5 still living. Two children, Florence, age 13, born in Indiana and Helen, age 7, born in Ohio were living with them. CITY/COUNTY DIRECTORY 1893-4Frank Sordelet was farming on section 5, 55 acres valued at $1165. He was in St. Joseph Twp. with a Fort Wayne postoffice. DEATH CERTIFICATE Frank's death certificate stated: Male, white, married to Emma Sordelet. He was born 9 Aug 1858. He was age 62, 8 mo. and 8 days old when he died on 17 April 1921. He worked as a ticket agent for the chicago Metropolitan Railroad. He was born in New York to Jacques Sordeletand ? Dupont both of France. Edward Sordelet of 2404 S. 50th Ave. was the informant. Dr. Kowsky gave the cause of death as myocarditis, aortic stenosis. He was removed to St. Mary's and buried on 20 April 1921. The undertaker was John W. Raleigh. BAPTISM Frank Louis, born 10 August 1857, child of Jacob and Armance Sordelet was baptised at St. Francis of Assisi in Tonawanda, NY on 10 Aug 1857. References
