Frances was probably born around 1520, and married William HONNYNG in about 1542. She gave William seventeen children, of which ten survived to adulthood – a good record for the time. Frances must have been a strong and resourceful woman, who had to care for her young brood when William was in Marshalsea Prison, and again after William died in 1569.

Francis survived her husband for two years. On 7th October 1571 she wrote her will; ten days later she was dead. In her will she made provision for her eldest son’s marriage; remembered all her children, her nieces, nephews, brothers and sister, her late husband’s siblings, and even his mother. She also gave to the poor of the parish. She was burried along side her husband William, in the Alter Tomb like that of her parents.
