- ↑ The census records of her children who lived in the U.S. give conflicting information about her birthplace. Benjamin reports that she was born in Pennsylvania, but the younger children (George, Abram and Samuel) report that she was born in North Carolina. In the 1861 census, she herself reported that she was born in North Carolina. However, if she was born in 1803 and Ezra Eby is correct about the year her parents moved to Pennsylvania (about 1796), then she was (most likely) born in Pennsylvania.
