The provinces covered by this census were Québec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario, as well as "The Territories" which comprised settlements to the west of Ontario in the present provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and the area to the north which is now called Nunavut.
