Elizabeth Skip was baptised on 17th April 1761 at Sandon in Hertfordshire, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Skip.

On 6th August 1787, aged 26, she was married in the neighbouring parish of Rushden to a widower called William Males. He was over 21 years her senior with several children from his first marriage. His parents lived at Shaw Green Farm, which is in Rushden parish but right on the border with Clothall parish.

Elizabeth and William went on to have three children baptised at Rushden between 1787 and 1790, although the younger two both died as babies.

William died in 1790, aged 50.

Two years later Elizabeth married again. She was married at Clothall to a Thomas Hutson or Hudson. They went on to have a son baptised at Rushden in 1793.

It is not clear what happened to Elizabeth after 1793. There are two burials for a Thomas Hutson at Clothall in 1794 and 1795, with insufficient information given to say which (if either) was Elizabeth's husband. No plausible burial or remarriage has been found for her in the area.
